Kula'25 Installations

Guided by the 2030 Agenda’s Five Ps — People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnerships — Kula ’25 placed craft at the centre of progress. Our installations and showcases traced the journey from material to object, artisan to community, spotlighting makers who persist despite climate and resource challenges, and inviting collaboration and investment in craft-led entrepreneurs and communities.

Matka: Stories of
Living Traditions

by Kabbish

Matka: Stories of Living Traditions reimagines the humble clay pot as a living archive of India’s cultural memory. Through Kabbish jewellery, the installation translates the pot’s everyday roles into contemporary wearable art, expressing how one timeless object carries countless meanings.

Noori ka Vaadyagram:
Crafting Music in India

by Noori

Noori ka Vaadyagram reimagines the instrument maker’s studio as an intimate “baithak,” where visitors experience musical instruments and their stories up close. Featuring string instruments such as the sarod, rubab, oud, lute, and Noori, the installation traces each instrument’s journey from making to evolution through cultural exchange.

Mend at Kula

by Fashion Revolution

"Mend at Kula” is a slow, participatory, and restorative space at the Kula Conclave, designed for moments of social or emotional overstimulation. It invites participants to sit, stitch, quilt, and recharge, using craft as a meditative, communal practice. Collective repair becomes a metaphor for personal reflection and social renewal, echoing Fashion Revolution’s ethos of “Repair as Revolution."

The Anantaya Cart

by Anantaya

The Anantaya Cart transforms an everyday object into a quiet, moving space for craft. Carrying a select few pieces in wood, metal, and brass, it invites a slower way of seeing, drawing attention to material, surface, and the many skilled hands behind each object. There is no heavy staging; the cart lets the work speak for itself.

The Soul of Creation

by Asha Gautam

Nature has always been humanity’s first muse. The Soul of Creation celebrates this through wall art hand-embroidered with delicate French knots. Each piece, taking up to 2,000 hours, transforms thread into texture, and patience into poetry.

The Living
Embroideries of Kutch

by Shrujan

The Living Embroideries of Kutch showcases contemporary textile panels created by women from twelve traditional communities of Kutch. Historically, embroidery served as both identity and voice, an expressive language in patriarchal societies where women’s stories were often unheard. Today, these same skills empower women economically and socially, enabling them to become earners and leaders within their communities.

Crafted Horizons

by M/S Lafaani

Crafted Horizons begins with the quiet poetry of making. Translucent Chanderi tapestries, eco-printed with temple-flower pigments and detailed with fine Kantha stitches, are suspended as layered scrolls forming horizon-like landscapes shaped by the rhythm of handcraft.

Trendspotting 2030

by Studio How About That!

Designed to activate the theme of Kula Conclave ’25, Trendspotting 2030 is an interactive game that blends the playful spirit of Jaipur with the energy of India’s creative and cultural economy. Its visual language draws from Jaipur’s rich history, royal heritage, and iconic art and architecture, inspiring an eclectic mix of motifs across the experience.

Where Craft Breathes Again - A Story Framed in Touch and Tradition

By Jaipur Rugs

This installation begins with a gesture of regard for the hands that shape craft. At its centre are wooden handles once used in the hand-carding of wool — an early, often unseen stage in rug-making. Each handle bears the quiet traces of labour: worn edges, marked grain, and the soft sheen created by repeated touch. Left in their original state, they stand as small archives of time and intention.

Kinship Baithak

by Aadyam Handwoven (An Aditya Birla Initiative)

Kinship Baithak at Kula is a gathering space designed by Aadyam Handwoven to foster meaningful exchanges through circles, lecture-demonstrations, and fireside chats in a warmly curated setting adorned with traditional textiles and seating.

Enterprise Spotlight

by IIM-A Ventures

A curated showcase of craft-led enterprises from North East India, presented by IIMA Ventures and SAP

Artisan Entrepreneur Showcase

by Artisan Showcase

A consolidated showcase of products, tools, and materials from 25+ artisan entrepreneurs across India, by Antaran (a Tata Trusts initiative).

Kula gave me a different outlook to viewing crafts

"Meeting so many craft-based enterprises made me realise how crafts can also be explored as business, so far I had only explored it in an artistic sense. I also met many ambitious artisan entrepreneurs and I hope they find a global voice through Kula. ”
